A School Parliament Meeting (with biscuits and cake!)
At the start of the year, children across the school stood for election to be ministers. A vote followed, and the following ministry teams were created:
Enrichment Group: This group will help to develop the school’s curriculum, particularly thinking about activities which add quality and value, including trips and visits.
Values Ministers: This group will help to lead Collective Worship, and be involved in setting up the prayer and reflection space. They will be responsible for maintaining this area throughout the term.
Sports Ministers: This group will work to increase the quantity and quality of sport in school, and can suggest ideas for lessons, activities, clubs and equipment to Mrs Williamson. They will also help to organise sports day.
Reading Ministers: This group will work with Mrs Sykes to raise the profile of reading in school, helping to promote reading to all.
Communities: This group will be the link to the local community, and be involved in helping to involve the community in school life, and going out in the community to represent the school.
Charities: This group will suggest which charities the school supports over the year, and what we do for fundraising. When this is decided, they will plan, advertise and organise fundraising events. The group may also help in fundraising for the school.
Ministry groups work with a member of staff and meet together in a Parliament Meeting once a term with Mr Aston to discuss what they've been up to!
